MEND HAS FINISHED!

Thank you for supporting the Montpelier Economic Need and Distress (MEND) fund in response to COVID-19. We are no longer accepting donations to this fund - relief checks will be sent out to local businesses by June 30, 2020. As always, you may donate here to the Montpelier Foundation. The Montpelier Foundation enhances our community’s ability to improve the quality of life for all residents and visitors.  Since 1994, your donations and bequests have supported projects that help provide long term public benefits in Montpelier.

Who are we?

We are the Montpelier Foundation. Our mission is to enhance our community’s ability to make valuable capital investments to improve the quality of life for local residents and visitors.

We fund "brick and mortar" projects that have a lasting impact in Montpelier and might not otherwise be funded with limited city resources.  The time has come for a more creative and community-based source of revenue.

Historically, Montpelier has benefited from the donations of a few notable families such as the Hubbards, Kelloggs, Heatons, Smilies, and others. Times have changed and so must we. Using the Foundation, individuals and corporations will be able to pool their resources and accomplish more than ever thought possible.

What projects do we support?

The Montpelier Foundation supports projects that provide long-term public benefits in Montpelier.

Funds can be used for the design, construction or acquisition of educational, recreational, transportation, public safety, utility, conservation and preservation, and cultural improvements having a useful life of at least 20 years.

We place a priority on projects where our funds can make a difference in further completing or finishing a project.

The Montpelier Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our EIN is 83-2812482. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. No goods or services will be provided in exchange for the contribution.
